Feel More Gratitude:

An Activity to Boost Your Happiness

Preparation:

Before you begin, please rate how happy you feel right now on a scale from 1-10.

Step 1:

Bring to mind someone for whom you feel very grateful.

Step 2:

Take a pen and paper and write a letter telling them:

  • 1) how you feel,

  • 2) why you feel that way, and

  • 3) how much they mean to you. 

Step 3:

Once you have finished writing the letter, contact the person and read it directly to them. You may need to get creative and use voice mail, but make sure it is spoken. 

If there is no way to do this, read it out loud to someone you trust to listen with care and compassion.

Step 4:

Check in with yourself once you are complete, to rate on a scale from 1-10 how happy you feel.
